The history of Oenoforos starts in 1990, when Angelos Rouvalis, a Bordeaux-trained oenologist, returns to Aigion and, having assembled substantial expertise from French and Greek vineyards, discovers the particular features of the Aigion vineyards (vigorous acidities, citrus fruits aromas, sharp terroir-mineralité in taste).

In 1991, ASPROLITHI was first created. A white wine from selected Roditis grapes that surprised and fascinated the wine specialists and friends. Aigion has come to the fore in an impressive way.
In 1993 the agronomist Yiannis Karabatsos became partner in Oenoforos and, assisted by European Community programs, the company builds its modern winery that remains an exemplary model of effectiveness.

Angelos Rouvalis advises and inspires his collaborating growers in new plantings, variety choices and cultivation techniques, while the enologist serves for the qualitative promotion of the region (2001) and collaborates closely with Angelos Rouvalis.
In 2004 – year of the Athens Olympic Games – the company Greek Wine Cellars join OENOFOROS, thus fortifying its position in every aspect, while Vassilis Kourtakis, personal friend of Angelos Rouvalis and honorary chairman of the Hellenic Wine and of the Comite Vins, becomes president of the board of directors.
Today, at the stage of maturity, OENOFOROS creates great wines from Greek and international varieties: the wine series “MIKROS VORIAS” (referring to the north-facing vineyards) includes modern, fresh and fruity wines, while the series IANOS includes barrel-aged wines.
The people of OENOFOROS offer important services in the Greek wine-making through collective responsibilities, while OENOFOROS works as a catalyst in the general qualitative development of the region.
